Perspectives on global health
Health is a state of complete physical, psychological and social well-being and is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. The concept of global health introduced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 defines a turning point in the conceptions of health because it attaches as much importance to the psychological and social dimensions as to the physical ones.
